Jason Goens,  LPC

Jason Goens, LPC was born and raised in south Louisiana, specifically the Houma-Thibodaux area. He interned at the Lafourche Parish Drug Court and eventually became a staff member before he moved to St. Charles Parish Drug Court. Jason got his start in corrections when he was a Juvenile Correctional Officer in a local juvenile jail. Ever since, Jason has worked in a capacity that helps people. He graduated with honors from
Nicholls State in his hometown of Thibodaux, LA with a Bachelor of General Studies and a concentration in Sociology and Social Sciences. Jason then graduated with honors from Walden University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Forensic Counseling. Jason feels that counseling was a calling for him. "I just try and treat people the way I would want them to treat me.” Jason utilizes an eclectic approach with a strong emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy. He worked at a local outpatient mental health center before joining Family Solutions in September 2022 at River Correctional Facility in Ferriday, LA. Jason has extensive experience and education in outpatient mental health treatment. Jason is married with one son, Levi. In his free time, he likes to hike local trails and collect books.
